Ohio in the Fall, plus birthday part 1

Earlier this month we headed up to Ohio for a few days. Between Grace's arrival and work and church schedules, we hadn't had a chance to get away since April! Evelyn and Grace loved the snuggle and play time with Nana, Grandpa, Aunt Car and Aunt Emly. Almost every day since Evie looks at me and says "Back, Nana's house, please, back?" When I ask her what she wants to do there she say "play! Play doll, play doll house." :) Here are a few pictures from our time. Thanks for letting us come up, Mom and Dad!

While we were there we celebrated Evie's birthday with them since my fam (except for Katie!!! :)) can't come down in November. Evelyn was super into the present opening and was *quite* thrilled with everything she got... tutu, wand, ballet bear, puzzles, play dough (seen in pictures with Nana and Grandpa above), books, new markers, clothes, rain boots...

Evelyn loved the whole celebration, but I think the singing and cake were her favorite. :) She was quite in awe when we all started singing to her and we had told her it was time to eat cake, so as soon as we set down the cake she grabbed her folk and dug right in! She didn't quite the concept of cutting it first. Don't worry though, we didn't just let her eat the whole cake by any means. :)
It was so delicious...

...that she just had to share every bite with ballet bear first. :)
We can't believe that our little girl is already almost 2!!!
