March Madness, Part 3: Williamsburg
Over Johns Hopkins spring break Kjerstin, Nick and Bridget came down for a quick visit. It was sooo good to see them again. :) Kjerstin, Bridget, Evie and I had good girl time during the days, Nick studied while Nathan was at work and then we all hung out together in the evening. Kjerstin and Nick stayed at what they thought was going to be a dumpy hotel room, but it turned out it was a nice time share resort suite! I'd recommend it to future visitors. :)
Kjerstin had never been to Colonial Williamsburg so we headed there first thing. Bridget loved all the animals, pretty hats and streams to throw rocks into. :)
After CW and lunch (we all nearly fainted from hunger) we stopped by Yankee Candle. The babies' favorites were the fountain and giant stuffed animals!
Bridget was so sure of the princess photo op...
Can't you tell that they're best friends already?? :)
I've been wanting to go to a park with Evelyn, but it feels funny with just a 4 1/2 month old who doesn't do much at parks yet. It was fun to go and watch Bridget run around and play in the dirt. Next year they both will be crazy girls!
Evie did get to try a few things this time though! She seemed slightly skeptical of both. :) Oh well, soon enough Kidsburg will be one of our fav places!
We're so glad the Kauffmans could come and visit and hope they come again soon!!! Or maybe we'll just head up to Baltimore one of these days. :) And next time Kjer and I will have to get a picture together!!

March Madness, Part 2: Lancaster
The weekend after the girls retreat we headed up to Lancaster, PA to visit my brother, sister-in-law and adorable niece. My parents, Emily and Caroline also came. We had a wonderful weekend together, the only sad part was it was too short! :(

She was NOT so sure, however, about how she felt having Evie in her baby stroller... ;)
It was so fun seeing Alana again. She has changed so much since Christmas. She is talking a LOT more and has such a fun little personality! Play-dough and reading are two of her favorite things.
She has a special reading closet up in her room. She let Nana and Caroline in for a while before closing up shop. :)
Evelyn thoroughly enjoyed the weekend - probably because she got to be held most of the time and got LOTS of attention.
On Saturday we went to an amazing indoor farmers market in down town Lancaster. There were all kinds of spices, teas, fresh flowers, herbs, produce, meat (all grass fed :)), bakeries etc. We had loved walking all around and eating lunch down there. I got some great teas and some yeast to try a new bread recipe from my friend Danielle (who got it from our friend, Liz :)). Speaking of the bread, I tried it over the weekend! It wasn't so beautiful, but it was good! I can't wait to try it again!
Mostly though, we just enjoyed spending time as a family - playing games, eating, laughing... I love this piture of all the dads with their baby girls. :)
We can't wait to visit Lancaster again, especially once Evelyn's new little cousin/Alana's new little brother or sister is born in 8 or so weeks!

March Madness, Part 1: Culpepper
Our March has been a busy month full of lots of fun, friends and family. It all started off with the first weekend - Evelyn got to go on her first girls retreat! Annette and I took the senior high girls on a "wilderness" retreat. They had no idea where we were going (and neither did Annette and I, really - neither of us had seen the place before).
We all packed into 2 cars...
We called the retreat a wildness retreat to throw the girls off, but really it was a good friend's parent's house in downtown Culpepper (her parents were on vacation). Annette and I weren't quite sure what to expect, but we certainly didn't expect the gorgeous victorian house that arrived at!!
The house was amazing. It was so much fun just to chill, hang out, watch movies, talk and play dress up in all the gorgeous vintage hats and gowns in the house (sadly I didn't get too many dress up shots). Evie loved being part of the girls!

After lunch we headed down to downtown Culpepper. There is a great little cafe/diner and we all got milkshakes. They were huge and amazing! Everyone was quite stuffed by the end. :)
Culpepper has a really cute down town. We spent all afternoon walking around and visiting different little shops.
It was a great weekend. Everyone was exhausted by the end, most little Evie! She kept falling asleep in the funniest ways... :)
