My First Snow!

As promised below, here are my first snow pictures. These first few technically document my first snow, but the 1/2 inch in Williamsburg hardly compares to the 1' + that I got to play in with my Aunt Caroline in Ohio.

Williamsburg's first snow of the year. This half inch shut down schools for 2 days! As you can see, my snow suit is a little big, but it keeps me warm!

Aunt Caroline and Aunt Emily got out their special pink baby sled from when they were little for me to use. I loved it! It was pretty cold out so I didn't stay out long, but the 10 minutes were enough to get me addicted!

Dad made the sled go so fast! It was a little scary, but mostly fun.

Dad found this awesome icicle outside, it was huge!

Towards the end it started to snow hard!

So Mommy took me back inside.

Based on my short experience, I have concluded that I love snow. I hope Williamsburg gets some more this winter when we're home to enjoy it!

Snow Ball Baby!

Williamsburg is getting their first Big Snow of the year today. All the schools were cancelled last night in anticipation of the Big Snow. Big Snow for Williamsburg means 1-2 inches. It started snowing around 9am this morning and we've received about an inch so far. :)
Evelyn was so excited about the Big Snow this morning that she asked to wear her snowball outfit. This outfit is still a bit big on her but I just figured that that adds to the snowball affect. It's white, fluffy, warm... perfect for a snowy day!

Evelyn was rather sad that I told her she needed to take a nap before playing in the snow...

but she complied nicely... :)

Once she wakes up we may try a real snow photo shoot! We'll see how adventurous Mommy and Evie are feeling. :) Meanwhile, it's very cozy just to snuggle down in our home drinking tea by the Christmas tree watching the snow fall!

d-group

The other week Evie enjoyed (for the most part :)) her first senior high d-group! She loved meeting all her new friends and future baby-sitters! :)

There was some sadness that there weren't enough babies to go around, so Jaime offered to keep Sarah company. ;)

Annette and Evie didn't get off to the best start (there was much screaming), but Annette came over later and they had a great time together:
 
Also youth group related, Evelyn took part in her first progressive dinner this past Sunday with the youth group christmas progressive dinner.
Despite the fact that I got no pictures of the food or of anyone eating, all the food was delicious (thanks Tuttles, Geisslers and Jesters!) and everyone left stuffed and happy.
Evelyn is enjoying all her new YG friends and they're all so very kind to her (it's no wonder she likes going to YG!)

So Evelyn really loves music. If she gets fussy if you sing to her or play music she almost always calms right down. She is particularly a fan of live music. She likes it when I play piano and really likes it when Nathan plays guitar. The musical gene skipped me and my musical talent is quite limited so I hope she takes after her father and Aunt Katie, Aunt Emily and Aunt Caroline!
The other night Nathan was practicing for church and Evie loved it! Here they are enjoying hanging out - she loved sitting in her boppy listening to the music.


Eventually it put her to sleep. Not sure if the hand over her ear means it was too loud or not... ;)

You probably noticed the pacifier - Evie is not sure what she thinks about it (and neither am I ;)) but she does occasionally like it and it does sometimes help her calm down when she gets really tired.
When Daddy is at work Evelyn has to satisfy herself with ipod music. Here she is in her bouncy seat enjoying some Christmas carols. You can't see her mouth but you can tell by her eyes that she's smiling. :)

Play Date

This week Evelyn had her first play date with her friend Bella! Bella is my co-worker's little girl who was born a week before Evelyn. Kizzy (my co-worker) and I enjoyed sharing our pregnancy together (aches, pains, joys, showers, etc :)) but now we're enjoying hanging out with our little girls even more!

Evelyn had a wonderful time with her friend Bella. She was exhausted, however, afterwards and this is how she fell asleep! I love her chubby little arms!!!

Black Friday

This past Friday was Evie's first Black Friday experience. We weren't planning on doing any shopping and we WERE planning on avoiding the outlets, but Evelyn had us up early so we decided to go and check out the deals. We did actually find some great sales and got some Christmas shopping done. Nathan also bought me a few things from Banana and Anne Taylor to update my wardrobe. :) Now that I'm back in my regular sizes and since I didn't get anything new for 10 months, we decided it was time for an update. :) Here is Evelyn enjoying her first trip to the Outlets. She loves Gymboree, Carters, and Baby Gap. ;)

It's our family's tradition to get our Christmas tree and decorate our house the day after Thanksgiving. So after the outlets we headed over to... LOWES! I know, it's not as glamorous as going out and cutting down our own, but there isn't a place you can do that close to us and Lowes as the size and the price range we look for.

We of course had to decorate the tree and the whole house as soon as we got home. Poor Evie was so tired that she slept through the whole thing, even her introduction to Nathan's all-time favorite ornament - GUMBY! He's practically the same size as her!

Once Evelyn did wake up we got some pics of her with the tree sitting in her bumbo! She's so small she actually sorta fits in the bumbo because the back of the bumbo is high enough to hold up her head. While these pics are cute and funny, I think we'll wait a few more months to really start using the bumbo. ;)
