Thanksgiving!

This Thanksgiving we had many things to be thankful for. This has been an eventful year, with Nathan's graduation, taking and passing the bar, starting a job, and of course Evelyn :-) Also, my (Nathan's) parents moved to Williamsburg this fall, and we were happy we could spend Thanksgiving with them and Uncle Aaron.

Faces

So, we think Evelyn is pretty funny when she's sleeping. She has all kinds of newborn faces and poses as you can see from the small sampling below. Since it's getting cold here she always starts off sleeping with a hat. As she grunts and squirms around, however, it usually ends up sliding off her head. :)

Animals

Although she can't see very well yet, we are sure Evelyn loves stuffed animals. Here are a few pictures with some of her favorites:
Evelyn loves her CW lamb from her friend, Miss Rachel. She stared at it forever yesterday, I think she liked the contrast of the white lamb against the dark couch.

Great Grammy and Grandad Walker sent her this adorable elephant. When you press it's stomach it lights up and plays music. Nathan's not so sure about the lights, but Evie loves it. ;) She likes playing with it, especially when she is wearing her matching elephant sleeper and bib and laying in her elephant bedding crib!

Evelyn received this little bunny from her Alaska friend, Carolyn Gilliland. Thank you Carolyn, Evie loves it!!

This bear was Nathan's when he was little. He says he remembers it being a lot bigger. ;)

Grandma and Grandpa Mortier brought this moose with them from Alaska. He and Evelyn are about the same size!

Evelyn was NOT so sure about Uncle Aaron's giant bear, as you can tell from her face!

Nathan's parents moved to Williamsburg in late October, just in time for the beautiful Virginia fall and Evelyn's arrival! They were able to visit us in the hospital the first day; Evie was very please to meet her grandparents so soon and is glad they don't live 4,000 miles away any more!

While Nana was in town Jeni and Evie hostessed a Grandmother's tea for both Grandmas.

"Baby Heavy"

We've enjoyed introducing Evelyn to many of our friends in the last week and a half. Our good friends, Steve, Liz and Sam were even here all the way from Roanoke! Sam was very welcoming to Evelyn. He even brought trucks to show her! He did have a little bit of trouble with saying her name, however. ;)

Family Visits

Nana came to visit the week after Evelyn was born. She was an amazing help to us, especially as Nathan went back to work on Tuesday. At the end of the week, Grandpa, Aunt Emily and Aunt Caroline came down for a quick visit as well, which coincided with Evie's first walk in Colonial Williamsburg.
